Join us at FPA DFW
Next week, I have the honor of presenting at the FPA DFW event in Dallas. We are enthusiastically proud to support the Financial Planners Association, as it’s one of the most diverse and impactful communities in the space. There will be an array of dynamic speakers and engaging presentations. I am particularly excited to be participating in the Cyber Risk presentation that I’ll be co-hosting with Steven Ryder of True North Networks. I will also be sharing the Box Professional Insurance presentation at a separate time.
Steven Ryder and I will be discussing both how to protect yourself from cyber risks, and how to effectively transfer those risks. We will review the time-tested ways to plan for and protect against cyber incidents, but we’ll also spend some time highlighting the most recent developments in this arena. In the cyber world, things move fast, so this presentation will contain a thorough review of important current cyber events. For Registered Investment Advisors in particular, it’s also valuable to discuss the current view of regulatory enforcements. Woven through this presentation will be several tips to protect and mitigate these regulatory risks. All these subjects will be discussed from a proactive protection standpoint, and we’ll explain how to make sure you are protected in the event of a cybersecurity incident.
The Box Professional Insurance presentation, on the other hand, is a broad look at RIA business insurance. We will walk through all the different business lines of insurance coverage, illustrating when each type of coverage may become important for you, and the enormously important role that specialist brokers play here. Our goal is to peel back the curtain so you can understand why the RIA insurance market can be convoluted and challenging. My commitment to you is that by the end of this discussion, you will understand how to evaluate this coverage and choose the coverage that most correctly fits your firm’s unique and specific risks. Of course, everyone likes a good story—so, I will bring several examples to illustrate real life experiences and how we navigated them.
If you are attending, I look forward to meeting you in person. If you can’t make it this year, keep an eye out for us at the next FPA DFW event or our presence at an event in your local area.
